Private Lessons

If you prefer an approach that is even more personal, our Surfing 101 Private Lesson is an ideal way to get introduced to the world of surfing! Whether it is by yourself, with family or a group of friends, our teaching on the beach and in the water ensures a safe and fun learning environment where you get the attention that you deserve and the professional instruction that you expect. This is a great way for a close group to enjoy each others’ company in the water. By the end, you’ll be lucky enough to understand the saying, "Only a surfer knows the feeling!"

Private Lesson Details:

• Ages 7 to adult are welcome
• 1 ˝ hour lesson at New Buffalo City Beach
• Includes Surfboard and Leash rental
• Instructor/student ratio never exceeding 1:6
• Ideal for friends and/or families
• A rental wetsuit is usually recommended — don’t let getting cold end your fun!
• Students meet at Third Coast Surf Shop 30 minutes prior to lesson

Private Lessons are available from April 1 to October 31 if student has his or her own wetsuit and appropriate accessories (gloves, booties, hood) and from June 1 to September 31 if a rental wetsuit is needed. Seasonal dates can vary depending on water temperatures. Lesson times vary and are determined when reservations are made. Space is limited for all of our lessons. Sign up online today!
