Skimboarding is one of the fastest growing water sports in the Great Lakes region. Fun and easy to do, it is a great way for kids and adults alike to stay active at the beach! Our Skimboarding Lesson emphasizes safety, proper technique, and fun; all of the elements important for taking full advantage of skimming on Lake Michigan. Skimboarding 101 includes appropriate warm-up exercises, equipment handling and safety, water and wave awareness, and the basics of holding, running, throwing, and riding your skimboard effectively. We guarantee you’ll have a great time while getting more than your feet wet!

Skimboarding Lesson Details: Ages 7 to adult are welcome 1 ½ hour lesson at New Buffalo City Beach Includes Skimboard rental A maximum limit of 12 students per group Instructor/student ratio never exceeding 1:6 Emphasizes safety, technique, and fun Students meet at Third Coast Surf Shop 30 minutes prior to lesson - $35 Per Person -

Skimboarding Lessons are available from June 1 to September 31. Seasonal dates can vary depending on water temperatures. Skimboarding Lesson Times: June 1 to Labor Day: Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 2:00 pm EST. Labor Day to September 31: Saturday at 2:00 pm EST. Space is limited for all of our lessons.
